Winter sports in Austria, the perfect combination of sun, snow and countless downhill runs. At Nassfeld, Carinthia’s largest ski area, you will find beautiful ski routes for every level. With 110 kilometres of pistes and 30 lifts, you don’t have to ski a piste twice – but of course you can! The blue, red and black slopes are kept in top condition every night with the help of 17 Pistenbullys. In this blog you will find the best ski routes in the Nassfeld ski area so you can make the most out of your days in the snow.
For toddlers or rookies
Leave your children safely behind and introduce them to skiing in a playful way? This is possible in one of the four child areas in the Nassfeld ski area. Here they ski up a short stretch on the roller belt and then ski down in a straight line to learn the swing. When they can make their first turns and brake well, there are blue practice runs at all the children’s areas in the area to take them further into the terrain step by step.
Are you starting to ski as an adult? Then skip the children’s ski area, but with a large number of blue runs to practice and gain confidence, you can often progress further into the ski area within a few days.
Together with the whole family
Skiing with the whole family? Then opt for a joint descent from the Madritschebahn mountain station in the direction of Nassfeld via the Lärchenboden downhill run, piste no. 23. This piste is marked red, but follow the 23A signs here so that everyone can join in. Popular with children is to take the path to Italy from this piste. To do this, change to piste 29 and continue to the border with Italy.
Tip for on the way: go over “The Snake”, fun for young and old. 700 metres of piste fun with jumps, curves and various humps.
