In particularly cold winters, Lake Pressegger freezes completely and reveals a true eldorado for pleasure skaters. No less than 55 acres of natural ice is available for you to glide, romp and race. Skaters who like to make circular tracks have found their ice paradise at Lake Pressegger.

Skating on Weissensee: Punctually around Nov. 25, the 6.5-square-kilometer Weissensee in Carinthia freezes over. Starting with the small western part, it is completely covered with a layer of ice up to 40 centimeters thick until mid-December. Ice athletes will not be long in coming. In addition, skaters and vacation guests can look forward to round ice rinks from four to 25 kilometers. This is where the alternative Elfstedentocht takes place annually.
