Make the most of your winter vacation in the Nassfeld Ski Area

Winter sports in Austria, a perfect combination of snow, sun and winter fun can be found in the ski area Nassfeld! Not only for the enthusiastic winter sportsman this area is wonderful. Nassfeld: a beautiful ski area for the whole family  

The ski area Nassfeld is located in the province of Carinthia, right at the border with Italy. Here you will find ski fun for everyone. The Millennium Express, the longest gondola in Austria, takes you directly to the ski area.  

Nassfeld is an ideal ski area for everyone and a very nice destination for families with children. For children from 2.5 years there is the kids ski area where they make their first experiences on skis. When they are a bit older, they can already safely master the fun slope “The Snake” and do their first tricks in the Shred park.   

With 110 kilometers of fun on the slopes, divided into blue, red and black runs, no two day is the same here. Thanks to the large lift capacity and the many kilometers of slopes, there are hardly any queues at the lifts in the Nassfeld ski area. Also nice: at the end of the day, you can ski back down to the valley via the 7.6-kilometer-long valley run.

You can book ski courses both in the valley and at the middle station of the gondola lift, the Tressdorfer Alm. Make your first meters on the practice slopes here as a beginner. Or you can book one of our accommodations and ski lessons directly on the mountain and hit the slopes right after breakfast in the morning.   

Not a skier? Even then there are many options.

More hours of sunshine than elsewhere in Austria  

The southern location of Nassfeld has two major advantages for winter sports enthusiasts: guaranteed snow and many hours of sunshine. Nassfeld is one of the ski resorts in Austria with the most snow.  Due to its location in the Alpeadria in a so-called snow hole, Nassfeld benefits from a microclimate that promotes snow reliability in the ski area. In addition, mechanical snowmaking systems are used on all slopes. Another advantage of the southern location of the ski area is the high amount of sunshine duration. Nassfeld counts over 100 more hours of sunshine per winter than any other ski resort in Austria. How nice is it to glide across a beautiful white carpet, with a clear blue sky and the sun on your face? 

Delicious food and drinks? We have a few tips.  

Winter sports are not just about getting outdoors, but also about good eating and drinking. Combine Austrian coziness with Italian life on the terrace of the Kabrio. You will ski or drive to the Italian border and cross the road here. Eat the most delicious pasta aglio & olio here or opt for one of the delicious freshly baked pizzas. Just be sure to get there early or wait until the rush is over, because you’re definitely not the only one who likes to have lunch here!  

Go for a drink at the end oft he day at the Zum Alois restaurant. This cozy après-ski bar is located down in the valley near the Millenium Express. Après-ski takes place here every day until 02:00 at night and you can enjoy conviviality, music and schnapps.
